I Need Chocolate

Parker quickly discovered that he loves the taste of chocolate. He has also discovered that he can get into the fridge all by himself. So the other day when I walked into his playroom...I found him with the syrup bottle. He was licking the top of the hershey's syrup. I walked in and said, Parker what are you doing!" Then Parker said, "Mommy, I need chocolate!" I laughed so hard. ....And by the way, we do not allow him to eat chocolate out of the syrup bottle!

Phil Vassar Concert

Ahhh...Phil Vassar. The only concert I really wanted to see this summer. Tickets were cheap and he was playing close to home. What else could I have asked for......
.......Rain???? Its SUNNY and HOT all summer here. Pretty much NO rain at all....BUT on the night of the OUTDOOR concert, what do you know? IT POURED. was windy and COLD!!

This is what... or should I say who we sat in the rain with for HOURS waiting for the show to go on. There was absolutely no way I was going to leave. We were going to sit in the cold, rain and wind until the show started.....and then...

...The show went on. Phil came out in the rain and wind! WooHoo. I was a very happy concert goer.

Because much of the crowd...like a thousand or more couldn't handle the weather (and left)..we were moved to the FRONT ROW! He put on a great show. It was definitely worth braving the weather for.

We were all smiles...suprisingly!

Walking at 8 months?

I bought layla another walker/toy a few weeks ago. She is walking like a pro with it. Now we are practicing walking without toys.

What's for dinner?

Making quite a mess with her lasagna

Cedar Point

We took a trip to Cedar Point recently. I'm not much of a thrill seeker, so of course I did not ride any roller coasters! However, Parker and Preston did ride some! We had a lot of fun. I couldn't believe how much Parker LOVED it. We will definitely go back every summer with the kids.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang were there to greet us.
Why didn't anyone tell me that Charlie Browns hat was literally attacking Parker. Next time we will stand on the other side!

Parker calls this "Big Charlie Brown"
Snoopy and Linus....they had to be SOO Hot in these costumes.

The whole gang on the frog hopper....

.....and Parker all by himself enjoying the ride. In the morning there was pretty much no lines to ride the kids rides. They could just walk right on...over and over again.
Flying his own Airplane at Cedar Point....Just like tintin!

Zoo

 Zoo Trip.....

Each time we stopped to watch the animals Parker would say the animals name, ie: "Hi Elephant" and wave at them. Too cute.

Parker enjoyed riding the Zoo train so much that he cried (brief meltdown!) because he wanted to ride it again.

Sleeping beauty was tired by the end of our trip

Parker fell asleep on the car ride home.

Independence Day

Its was sooooo HOT for the fourth of July here. I mean Over 100 degree Hot with an even higher heat index. High Heat + Good chance of Rain=We kept the kids indoors, instead of getting out to the beach or to the park.
Happy 4th Of July. Laylas 1st July 4th. Nana babysat while we took Parker to see the Fireworks (thank goodness because it poured down rain right before they started)

David and Parker getting ready to watch Preston light off some fireworks (didnt get pics of that)
Parker holding a sparkler..with daddys help.
100 degree heat, no nap + Carnival rides to big for little guys to ride=Crying toddler

Nice and dry..BEFORE the rain. We really thought it was NOT going to rain, but to our dismay it started pouring about 10 minutes before the fireworks were supposed to start.

We were soaked (my curly hair and Parker without his shirt) Note to self: Always bring an extra outfit for the kids! We got completely soaked but the kids still had fun (don't let the look on Parker's face fool you) It stopped raining AFTER we all RAN as fast as we possibly could to our car (which was not anywhere nearby). So we decided to stay (for the kids sake) and watch the fireworks. Despite them being wet, there were still plenty of Ohhs and ahhs

We weren't sure how Parker would react since this was his first year watching the fireworks. Lucky for us, he loved them. What a good sport!
