Sandbox fun

Homemade Sandbox...see posts below

Sandbox

New Sand Box Before and After

BEFORE

AFTER

New Sandbox

Above: We decided that it would be nice to have a "deluxe" sandbox for the kids. We looked at a few pictures online and came up with our own ideas...for the Perfect Sandbox. (Preston builds...I take the pictures!...and monitor of course) We wanted something big enough for several kids to play in and tall enough so when they get older we can turn it into something else (maybe some sort of fort, playhouse, kids hideout etc). We also wanted a "roof" , pirate wheel and a bench seat. Preston even built a bench seat with storage underneath to store all the toys. Also on both corners of the right side of the sand box are two corner seats...so there is plenty of seating inside. The bench seat is long and sturdy enough for a few adults to sit and watch the kids play..or just to put their feet in the sand too.
Parker..."breaking ground" for his new sandbox

Preston getting started on the sandbox

Kids helping too

Parker is always willing to lend a hand

Adding the sand...and pirate wheel

The kids were very excite to add the sand

Even Layla was able to dip her itty bitty feet in the soft cool sand

No Sandbox of ours would be complete without a pirate wheel...

Crawling

Layla has been trying to crawl the last few weeks and she just about has the hang of it. Soon we will be chasing her all over the house.

I cannot believe he did that....

Preston and I always say that our kids would never be the ones who fall asleep while they are eating. Guess we were wrong! So funny and so precious.

Our Babies Have Finally Hatched....

Above: 2 of Our Robin eggs finally hatched. Here they are at 1 day old. Tiny, hairless and gigantic eyes!

Above: Baby Robins at 3 days old. Much fuzzier and tripled in size in 3 days!

Above: Babies at 1 week old. What a difference 7 days makes. Just amazing.

Above: Both parents guarding the nest. I was so worried about crows getting these little babies. The first day the babies hatched, the crows were everywhere trying to get at the nest. However these Robins are doing an excellent job protecting their babies.
Momma bird feeding her baby. I must say....I am not a huge fan of birds, but watching this all happen over the last few weeks has been beyond interesting.
