Almost 10 weeks old...
Not up for smiling today, or even a quick smirk. She is in "serious mode" which is her usual. She is growing like a weed and eating ALOT! I have to hurry and put her in all her three month clothing because she will soon outgrow them. It bothers me to see 1) they grow so quickly and 2) with Parker , I had so many clothes he outgrew before I could get the tags off of them. I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen this time. Even if that means I have to change her outfit numerous times a day ; )
If anyone is thinking, "why is she always wearing the same head band?" This is the only one that she will let me put on her. (Thanks Aunt Chandra).

Window Crayons
My sister introduced us to Crayola Window Crayons. They are pretty awesome. There's just one problem. How do you make a two year old understand that he is allowed to write all over the windows, but not the walls, furniture etc?
Okay, i lied, there is another potential problem... how do you teach a two year old the difference between actual crayons for windows and regular crayons that are much harder to scrub off!
Love this....
Project idea: Re-Vamp something old and make it fun...
So lately I have been into crafting and wanting to remodel just about every room in the house! I have so many ideas in my head, new paint, building things, refinishing old furniture, moving things around etc.. This is just a very small project. The first room Ive gotten my hands on is the kids play room. It is in need of a face lift.
....here is a hint to the next project for the playroom....can you guess what it might be?!

Imagination Station
2 Months Old!
Layla turned 2 Months Old today!
It has only been two months since Layla arrived, but somehow it seems like it has been much longer. She is sleeping better at night. BUT she is not sleeping through the night ; ( (Wishful thinking on my part) She goes to bed around 10pm-11pm then wakes up every 1 1/2 - 2 hours! However this is better than not sleeping at all through the night as she did the first month. She is up most of the day, waking up around 7am. We call her a machine, as this child does not need sleep. It is so bizarre. She continues to be awake at least 15 hours per day. So not much change there.
She continues to hate her swing, bounce chair etc. and continues to prefer being held and walked around.
Layla is VERY dramatic and SCREAMS when she does not like the position you are holding her in or when she wants more to eat. We hope these dramatics to not continue on through her teenage years, but we seem to have a feeling we may be in for an eventful next 18 years + She is only 2 months but Preston and I already laugh and agree that we already feel sorry for her future boyfriend/husband.
Overall, our house is more calm these days. We have been able to get into a routine and have somehow found ways to get a little more sleep.

Chuck E Cheese.
We spent a few hours at Chuck E Cheese.....
The kids were much better than we expected and Parker loved seeing the animated figures on stage. He kept yelling "Chuck Cheese" (leaving the "E" out) throughout the entire time. Layla pretty much slept the entire time...which made us very happy ; )
Riding on some rides. Don't let the looks on his face fool you, he had a great time. I think he was getting sick of the camera in his face.
Even mommy was able to play some games.
Enjoying some pizza and a cold drink after lots of running.
Layla Belle waking up just before we left.

Winter Cleaning...
After Christmas was over and Parker received more books, puzzles, toys etc, I decided it was time to do a little play room organization. Preston always laughs at me because I organize Parker's toys. For example all Toy story toys go together, toy cars together, dinosaurs together...you get the point. So I bought some rubber maid totes and figured they would be perfect for organization. So one night, I went through some of his toys and organized them into separate bins. I figured he would appreciate it, but Preston just thinks Im crazy. When I brought Parker down stairs the next morning, he said, "wow, cool" He immediately went for the totes and DUMPED all of them into one pile! He thinks it is so fun to dump all his toys, so each night and during his nap I go into his playroom and re-organize everything so he can do it all over again. Why? Because he will not play in a dirty playroom! He gets really happy when his playroom is clean...so he can destroy it in a matter of minutes!
The Good....and the not so good...
Over the last week, Layla has been smiling much more. Usually if I call her "poopy pants" she smiles and laughs. The same worked for Parker at this age. I dont know what it is, but I will say whatever it takes to get a smile.....
..However I pushed it too far by putting the headband on her. She was Not having it!
